From today, parking controls will be in operation at the shopping centre in a bid to ease congestion and protect facilities for shoppers as the surrounding area continues to expand.
The pay and display machines are now in operation in the smaller car parks, with the main car park’s time restriction going live on Friday 17th May 2019.
A Springburn Shopping Centre spokesman said, “We’ve been finding that shoppers sometimes can’t find a car parking space because the car park is taken up by people who are not using our facilities. With the arrival new build developments in the area we are concerned this is likely to lead to an increase in traffic. We’re keen to be as fair as possible whilst protecting facilities for shoppers and are continuing to invest in the Centre and the surrounding area in a variety of ways”.
